Why Law is Important
Types of Law
  • Constitutional Law

    It defines and protects rights of citizens. It defines and regulates the power of the; Legislature, Executive and Judiciary.

  • Common Law

    A type of law which is derived from customs and court rulings and not statures.

  • Criminal Law

    As the name suggests it relates to crime. It is mainly concerned around what a criminal offence is and the punishment for it.

  • Administrative Law

    The law that governs the government and other administrative bodies actions. These are set by the Executive branch of the government.

  • Statutory Law

    Refers to laws written by a body of legislature. These laws can originate with national, state or local legislatures.
